When it comes to your education, scholarships play an important role in ensuring that you get the funding you need for the collegiate career that you want. There are several different scholarships that you can pursue, each with their own different criteria and eligibility requirements. It is important to stay aware of the different attributes and criteria when you are applying. Most importantly, though, you need to stay aware of the deadlines that exist on these different opportunities. Missing a deadline can mean the difference between getting monies or not.

1. The Cochlear Graeme Clark Scholarship: $2,000; Deadline: October 1, 2015
For those struggling with hearing loss—be it complete or partial—there are scholarships available to pay for schooling. One such scholarship is the Cochlear Graeme Clark Scholarship. The goal of this scholarship is to provide an opportunity for the hearing impaired to attend the college of their choice. Named after Professor Graeme Clark who worked at the University of Melbourne and whose research led to the creation of the first implant and ultimately the first Nucleus implant, this scholarship is given to students who meet all of the eligibility requirements. Students must have a Nucleus Cochlear Implant, must be a graduating or recently graduated senior, and they must also carry a GPA of at least 2.5.
2. Paralegal Career Scholarship: $500; Deadline: October 1, 2015
Paralegal careers are very popular and the need for trained paralegals is growing. There are several different agencies that rely on these individuals to help them to complete legal documentation, take notes, and meet other demands that the law requires. For those interested in pursuing this career, there are scholarships available including the Paralegal Career Scholarship. The Paralegal Career Scholarship focuses on the need for individuals who want to pursue this career to have the resources they need to pay for an education. To be eligible, students must be at least eighteen years of age and they must be enrolled or accepted into a program at a collegiate university.
3. Students With Heart: $500 to $2,000; Deadline: October 1, 2015
Another lucrative opportunity for students in paying for schooling is the Students with Heart Scholarship. This scholarship is given to individuals that have a diagnosed heart deformity or defect. Individuals that would like to apply for this award need to be aware that it is on the list of scholarships with deadlines in October because of the need to release funding for the upcoming school year. Students must also show proof that they are accepted into an accredited program or are currently enrolled. Students may also be eligible to renew the scholarship each year, based upon financial need and academic performance.
4. Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship: Varies; Deadline: October 2, 2015
For students that are also athletes, Wendy’s offers a great scholarship opportunity. This scholarship is given to students that have at least a 3.0 GPA and who participate in one of the forty-three Olympic committee recognized sports. Students must demonstrate that they have participated in these activities and must also explain how they are leaders in their community. The interesting part of this scholarship is that more than the student wins. Individuals may also win thousands of dollars in their name for their school as well.
5. Snap Scholars: $1,000; Deadline: October 5, 2015
The Snap Scholarship is given to students that have an interest in digital marketing. For current college students and those who are looking to enroll, this scholarship is provided to those who can articulate the unique nuances and values that can be found in digital marketing activities. Specifically, students must write a 1,000 word article that explains a “cutting-edge” practice in digital marketing schematics and how that is influencing the greater field of marketing. For those who articulate this, and meet all other eligibility requirements, the reward can be highly beneficial in paying for schooling.
