When the team here at StudentAdvisor saw the new school pages, we were delighted as LinkedIn is becoming an increasingly valuable way to link education, school and career goals.  This is the latest evolution of colleges’ and universities’ social media opportunities.  LinkedIn described the launch of these pages as, “One cornerstone of our strategy to help students at every critical milestone, from campus to fulfilling, successful careers.”

Our mission is always “students first,” and this new LinkedIn platform could help students make better, smarter, and more informed decisions.  Time.com reporter Victor Luckerson just wrote a story about LinkedIn’s new feature and decision to open its doors to teenagers.

While we are compiling the Top 100 Social Media Colleges we are constantly examining the innovative and creative ways schools harness the power of social media.  The Top 100 Social Media Colleges list is the only scientifically calculated list highlighting the schools who demonstrate the best uses of social media. We have even adjusted the algorithm to account for the newest and most relevant social media channels, including Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, and Vine.
