2. Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship: $1,000, Deadline: July 31, 2014
This merit-based scholarship named in honor of best-selling educational authors requires a 250 word essay on a prompt from the application or a topic of your choice.
3. Flavor of the Month Scholarship: $1,500, Deadline: July 31, 2014
July is National Ice Cream Month. Answer the question If you were an ice cream flavor, which would you be and why? in 250 words or less, and you could be the next winner!
4. Kaplan University 50/50/50 Grant: 50% tuition, Deadline: August 6, 2014
Do you know any adults who would like to get a college degree or professional certification? Kaplan University is offering the first 50 enrolled students who are at least 50 years old a 50% tuition reduction toward a variety of master’s, bachelor’s, associate’s, or for-credit certificate programs. Choose from a wide range of fields, including business, IT, nursing, health care, and education.
5. MAPA Safety Foundation Scholarship: $2,000, Deadline: August 15, 2014
This annual scholarship is awarded by the Safety Foundation to promote aviation safety to a student enrolled in a related program, including flight training, aircraft maintenance, engineering, and airport management systems.
6. College Is Power Scholarship: $1,500, Deadline: August 31, 2014
This scholarship is open to anyone over the age of 17 who is already enrolled in either a physical or online college or is planning to enroll within the next 12 months. Just submit the online application and a short essay.
7. Make Me Laugh Scholarship: $1,500, Deadline: August 31, 2014
This scholarship is about having fun. All they want from you is a short description of a funny or embarrassing incident in your life (fact or fiction) that makes them laugh out loud!
8. Kaplan Single Parent Scholarship: up to $8,500, Deadline: September 1, 2014
This scholarship consists of a $500 per term tuition reduction for first-time enrollees in most Kaplan undergraduate degree programs. Students must be single parents to apply.
9. Society of Architectural Historians (SAH) Fellowhips: $1,000, September 5, 2014
The SAH offers eight $1,000 fellowships, and applications will be accepted from August 1st through September 5th. A single application from the organization’s website will be applied towards any of the SAH fellowships for which a student is eligible.
